Varnam is a long, endurance piece that requires depth of understanding of the chosen narrative and of the dancing body. VSD is a studio-showcasing platform, for and by Bharatanatyam dancers in Germany, that help open a dialogue between dancers and the audience.

Why did we start this?

To bring bharatanatyam recitals closer to audience

To inspire young dancers, by providing a platform to explore this repertoire

We work as an independent extension to Varnam salon California. This is our way to sow, nourish and sustain a hub for Indian classical dance in Germany
