A Nation Holds its Breath – George Hamilton in Munich

George Hamilton spent over 40 years reporting on some of the most iconic moments in Irish sport with RTÉ Sport. He is renowned for his lively commentary, which brought sporting events to life over the airwaves.
In recent times, he has moved from sports commentary to musical scores, with his weekend music show on RTÉ lyric fm ‘The Hamilton Scores’.
Throughout his career, on and off the airwaves, George has been linked to Germany: from studying German and French at university, to reporting on EURO 88 in Stuttgart, and returning for EURO 2024 around the country.
This June, the Embassy of Ireland in Berlin and the Consulates General of Ireland in Frankfurt and Munich are delighted to bring George Hamilton back to Germany to reminisce on some of the standout moments of his career.
Join us in Munich on 4 June 2025 for an evening with the legendary broadcaster as he recounts some incredible anecdotes.
